Tobacco Firm Donates Cigarette Butt Receptacles

PHILIP Morris Fortune Tobacco Corp. and Rotary Club of Bacolod-East donated to the City Government of Bacolod through Mayor Evelio Leonardia 10 cigarette butt receptacles recently. The said receptacles were turned over by PMFTC Inc. Sales and Distribution director Harry Tan, Jr. to Leonardia. Regional Trade Marketing Michael Aguilar, PMFTC Inc. Corporate Affairs Rey Mariano, Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, City Councilors Bobby Rojas, Sonya Verdeflor, and Homer Bais, and members of Rotary Club of Bacolod-East were present during the turnover ceremony. Leonardia extended his gratitude to Tan for donating those receptacles. He also acknowledged the Rotary Club of Bacolod-East for being active as well as Vice Mayor Sayson for working together with the donors. He added the turnover ceremony is just another public-private partnership. Tan said the project is one way to support the Republic Act No. 9003 of 2000 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act on the proper and responsible disposal of cigarette butts. Enditem
