Altadis USA Delegation Visits Great Wall Cigar Factory

A high-level delegation from Altadis USA grouping a vice president, a global cigar leaf manager and a quality control manager from the Dominican Cigar Factory visited the Great Wall Cigar Factory of Sichuan-Chongqing Regional China Tobacco Industry Corporation in southwest China on June 20-22, for discussions on bilateral cooperation in business development.

During the visit, the two sides held talks on promoting fulfillment of agreements signed between the two sides in April 2011 on cooperation in transformation of products and technological cooperation in raw materials and other relevant work. Also during the visit, the delegation conducted a full-scale inspection of the processes of leaf tobacco raw materials storage for hand making of cigars, fermentation of leaf tobacco for cigar making, hand making of cigars, packaging of cigar products, maintenance, storage, etc. and exchanged views with its Chinese hosts on technology development and application, laying groundwork of cooperation in the transformation of cigar products. The two sides jointly evaluated the aesthetic quality of sample products transformed in cooperation, and exchanged views on issues concerning the establishment of exclusive bases for producing high-quality leaf tobacco for cigar making and bilateral business cooperation in the second half of 2011.
