China: Cigarette Factory Prepares for Entry Into Operation of Transformed Production Line

Shanghai Cigarette Factory - the cigarette making arm of Shanghai Tobacco Group - is busy making all preparations for scheduled entry into operation of its technologically transformed exclusive line for producing cigarettes of the time-honored Chunghwa brand family by the end of 2011. To guarantee that the exclusive Chunghwa production line will go into operation as scheduled, Workshop No. 2 of Shanghai Cigarette Factory has been making preparations in an all-round way recently, including debugging of the equipment, formulation of the relevant technical standards, strengthening of the training of human resources, and improvement of production management. So far, Shanghai Cigarette Factory has completed material debugging of the GD121A cigarette-making machine, the PROTOS-M5 cigarette-making machine and the FOCKE-FX2 packaging machine for the exclusive Chunghwa production line, all of which have turned out qualified cigarettes. In accordance with the requirement of the production planning by Shanghai Cigarette Factory for the second half of 2011, the debugging of the exclusive Chunghwa production line will enter a fast track shortly, which will involve simultaneous debugging of four sets of equipment - two for soft packaging and two for hard packaging - at the cigarette rolling and packing zone. To this effect, Shanghai Cigarette Factory has additionally allocated relevant human resources, including machinists, laborers and support personnel, to ensure smooth operation of debugging. Enditem
