Shanghai Tobacco Package Printing Co., Ltd. - a subsidiary to Shanghai Tobacco Group - has recently imported from Italy a first Lachenmeier fully automatic cold stretch hood machine for its gravure printing line, in efforts to provide better service and full-scale guarantee for cigarette production by Shanghai Tobacco Group. In comparison with the traditional technology of applying the wrapping film and the traditional technology of thermal contraction packaging, the cold stretch hood technology applied by the machine realizes single-layer overall hood packaging, unlike the repeated wrapping of multilayer films under the traditional technology of wrapping packaging, according to the Shanghai Tobacco Industry News newspaper. Operation of the Lachenmeier fully automatic cold stretch hood machine is not only highly automatic, but also contributes to lowering the cost of production and raising efficiency, the newspaper said. Besides, the user can choose the mode of top-opening or the mode of no opening in packaging, in accordance with the actual need of products. The machine is flexible in operation and is easy to transport. So far, the fully automatic cold stretch hood machine has smoothly passed the phase of installation and debugging, and has entered the phase of production testing. In a next period of time, the technology center of Shanghai Tobacco Package Printing Co., Ltd. will start the work of formulating relevant technological standards governing operation of the machine, to ensure safe use of the technology of cold stretch hood in the printing of tobacco packages for cigarette production by Shanghai Tobacco Group.
