BAT Fills HR Role

Giovanni Giordano has been appointed group human resources director at British American Tobacco with effect from the beginning of June. Giordano, who has US and Italian nationality, was previously at Procter & Gamble and Ferrero. Commenting on the appointment, chief executive, Nicandro Durante, said he was delighted to welcome Giordano as a member of the management board. "His extensive consumer goods and international experience makes him ideal for the role and I'm confident that he will fit into our management style and culture very well," said Durante. "I would also like to thank John Daly, chief operating officer, very much for everything he has done to cover the HR role on a temporary basis since the beginning of March." Enditem
