China: Relocated Burley Processing Line Goes Into Operation at Cigarette Factory

The burley processing line relocated from Wuhan Cigarette Factory to Hong'an Cigarette Factory - both affiliated to Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in central China's Hubei Province - officially went into operation at the leaf tobacco cutting workshop of Hong'an Cigarette Factory on April 30, after successful installation and debugging.

In December 2010, Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation decided to relocate the burley processing line - the only one in Hubei Province - from Wuhan Cigarette Factory to Hong'an Cigarette Factory, in efforts to enable Hong'an Cigarette Factory to directly produce cut tobacco for making export-oriented cigarettes, and enhance its annual production capacity. After dismantlement at Wuhan Cigarette Factory, the burley processing line was transported to Hong'an Cigarette Factory on February 19. The installation of the burley processing line at Hong'an Cigarette Factory was completed after more than two months of busy work. Hong'an Cigarette Factory's possession and operation of the burley production line will contribute to strengthening its capacity to produce blend-type cigarettes destined to international markets.
