China: Provincial Corporation, Local Tobacco Company Sign Cooperation Pact

Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in central China's Hubei Province and Liangshan Prefecture Branch of Sichuan Provincial Tobacco Company in southwest China's Sichuan Province signed an agreement on May 6 on bilateral cooperation in the establishment of units of exclusive leaf tobacco production bases for making cigarettes of the Yellow Crane Tower brand of the former. The signing of the one-year agreement was in compliance with the requirement of the Norms Governing Establishment of Units of Exclusive Leaf Tobacco Production Bases in the Development of a Modern Tobacco Agriculture in China issued by the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, in accordance with the principle of steady promotion and coordination in the establishment of exclusive leaf tobacco production bases for making cigarettes of the Yellow Crane Tower brand, and on the basis of equal and friendly consultation between the two sides. The signing of the agreement signified further strengthening of cooperation between Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation and Liangshan Prefecture Branch of Sichuan Provincial Tobacco Company in establishing units of exclusive leaf tobacco production bases.
