India Looking to Revitalize Tobacco Exports

The Tobacco Board of India wants tobacco exports to increase by a minimum of 20 per cent in the current financial year (April 2011-March 2012) following a dip in exports during the previous year. The Board recently held a meeting with the country's top tobacco products exporters to encourage them to expand their sales on foreign markets, according to a story in the latest newsletter of the BBM Bommidala Group, which is one of the top exporters. The chairman of the Board, Kamalavardhana Rao, said that concerted efforts were being made to tap markets in South East Asia, Russia, Iran and the Gulf countries. Enditem
