JT to Start Shipping Another Two Products

Japan Tobacco Inc. says that it is to start shipping out two additional products, Pianissimo One and Pianissimo Super Slims Menthol One, from June 6. The latest step in the company's move towards normalizing its production and distribution operations following the earthquake of March 11 has been made possible following test runs carried out on some of the production lines in its Kita-Kanto and Koriyama factories, which were damaged by the earthquake. The company says it will be making further announcements about the start of shipments of additional products once timings have been finalized. JT is planning to report on the effects of the damage caused by the earthquake and on its near-term responses in its financial statement of May 12. "We are of the view that the amount of loss associated with our fixed assets and inventory assets damaged by the earthquake is limited at this time," the company said.
