Provincial Administration, Corporation Sign Pact on Base Units Development

Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Administration in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province and Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in central China's Hubei Province signed in Yunnan's provincial capital city of Kunming on April 15 a framework agreement on bilateral cooperation in the establishment of units of exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production and supply bases oriented toward the development of big competitive cigarette brands.

Present at the signing ceremony were Deputy General Manager Tong Rongkun of Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Company and Deputy General Manager Kang Yongsheng of Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, as well as leaders of the Leaf Tobacco Administration Department of Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Company, and the Raw Materials Purchase Center and the Technology Center of Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation. The framework agreement provides that in the 2011-2015 five-year period, the two sides, in accordance with the requirements of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration for the development of exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production and supply bases, and in light of the targets of Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation for the development of big competitive cigarette brands and the strategy of Yunnan Province for promoting the development of leaf tobacco production, will practically promote the establishment of units of exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production and supply bases oriented toward the development of big competitive cigarette brands, promote the production and quality of leaf tobacco at exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production and supply bases, build up the capacity of high-quality leaf tobacco supply, manage to increase the efficiency of distribution of resources of leaf tobacco, and effectively meet the demand of both provinces for the development of big competitive cigarette brands.
