RAI Provides North Carolina Tornado Relief

Reynolds American Inc. said yesterday that the Reynolds American Foundation would donate $100,000 to the American Red Cross to help provide relief to victims of the multiple tornadoes that hit North Carolina on April 16. "Our hearts go out to our fellow North Carolinians who have lost so much as a result of these devastating storms," said Steve Strawsburg, president of the Foundation. "Our hope is that this donation will help in the rebuilding process as people begin to put their lives back together." Additionally, the Foundation plans to match, dollar for dollar, any tornado-relief contributions that employees of RAI and its operating companies make to qualifying, non-profit, charitable, public organizations, including the American Red Cross. The Foundation is a non-profit corporation that administers charitable and educational giving programs on behalf of RAI, its operating companies and their employees. It primarily focuses contributions on educational, arts, and human-service programs in communities where significant numbers of employees of RAI and its operating companies live and work. RAI, its operating companies and their private charitable foundations donated more than $10.2 million to a wide range of non-profit organizations in 2010. Enditem
