HongyunHonghe Continues Extension of Donations to Agricultural University

Yunnan Agricultural University in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province held a high-profile ceremony recently to award the 2010 annual prizes to winning teachers and scholarships to winning students with the university, known as "Hongyun Teachers' Prizes" and "Honghe Scholarships", which were funded by HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in the province.

In total, 40 teachers and 200 students with the university won the prices for 2010. In an address delivered at the ceremony, He Shaoyu, deputy secretary of the Communist Party group at Yunnan Agricultural University, expressed appreciation to HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group for its great support to the cause of education at the university.

He said that beginning in 2009, HongyunHonghe donates 1 million yuan (150,000 U.S. dollars) to Yunnan Agricultural University each year to fund the "Hongyun Teachers' Prizes" and "Honghe Scholarships".
