China: STMA Delegation Inspect HongyunHonghe, Hongta

A delegation of leaders of the working office of the Board of Directors of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) inspected HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group and Hongta Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on March 17-18, after holding talks with top leaders of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation. During the talks, the STMA delegation, led by STMA Board of Directors Chairman Lu Ruigang, exchanged opinions on quota management with Board of Directors Chairman Liu Wandong and General Manager Zhu Shaoming of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in an in-depth way. In the inspection, Lu praised HongyunHonghe and Hongta for always taking a lead in the tobacco industry of China in various aspects of management over production and marketing, and for their achievement of a great deal of successes in quota management. For Hongta Group, it has established an ERP management system, laying a solid foundation for realizing establishment of a comprehensive and scientific system of indexes of budgetary quotas, and accumulating useful experience in control over the cost of production, in checking indexes of efficiency of material supplies, etc. For HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group, it has taken steps to promote full-scale improvement of its system of management over budgetary indexes while focusing its energy on the central tasks of production and manufacturing, research and development of technologies, marketing, procurement of material supplies and management over physical distribution, and its successful experience in this regard deserves study and imitation, according to Lu. Lu expressed the hope that Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation will sum up its successful experience in the work of quota management, in order to initially form a framework system of standards for quota management, and provide powerful support for continued improvement of management and promotion of cigarette production in China to a higher level.
