A high-level delegation from the G.D - a large automated packaging machinery manufacturer in Italy - visited HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on March 16, holding in-depth talks and exchange with Hongyun-Honghe top leaders on bilateral business cooperation and development.
The G.D delegation included Chairwoman Isabella Seragnoli, Executive Director Angelos Papadimitriou and Commercial and Marketing Department Director Paolo Cremonini.
Receiving the G.D delegation were HongyunHonghe top leaders including Board of Directors Chairman Yao Qingyan, CEO Wu Yi and Deputy CEO He Guogang.
In the talks and exchange of opinions, Seragnoli, Papadimitriou and Cremonini said that they were glad to visit HongyunHonghe again, and expressed the confidence that HongyunHonghe - in the capacity of the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - will realize new development in 2011, which is the first year of the 12th Five-Year Plan period for China's socioeconomic development.
The three G.D leaders said they felt honored that HongyunHonghe always chose products of the G.D, and that G.D attaches great importance to business cooperation with HongyunHonghe. They promised that the G.D will always meet its commitments to technological service and provide support to HongyunHonghe's ongoing project of technological transformation.
For his part, Wu extended welcome to the current visit by the G.D delegation, and expressed appreciation to the G.D for its long-term support to the development of HongyunHonghe.
Wu briefed the G.D delegation on HongyunHonghe production and marketing in 2010 and in the first two months of 2011, on the situation of technological transformation and relocation of Kunming Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe, and on the "331" brands development target of Hongyun-Honghe.
Under the "331" brands development target, Hongyun-Honghe will strive to increase the annual output of its competitive Yunyan and Honghe cigarette brands each to 3 million cases (150 billion cigarettes), with the annual total of single-brand sales income reaching 100 billion yuan (14.7 billion U.S. dollars), by the year 2015, in sufficiently embodying the spirit of the STMA's guideline of "promoting cigarette production to a higher level".
Wu said that packing machines imported from the G.D were used to produce cigarettes of HongyunHonghe's core brand of Yunyan. He expressed hope that the G.D would continue to attach importance and care to HongyunHonghe's project of technological transformation, further strengthen technological support to it, and step up the process of debugging of equipment, in order that the newly imported equipment will be put to use at an early date.
Speaking on the same occasion, Yao said that the G.D has always been a cooperation partner to HongyunHonghe, that it has always been in cooperation with Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation and even the whole of China's tobacco industry, and that the two sides have been in cooperation on a long-term basis in realizing mutual benefit and a win-win situation.
In the process of cooperation, the G.D has proven itself with its great capacity, Yao said. He praised employees of the G.D for their very powerful technological capabilities and their great dedication to work, which can be learned from by their Chinese counterparts.
