Tobacco Merchants Association Announces Annual Meeting Source from: Tobacco Reporter 03/02/2011 The Tobacco Merchants Association will host its 96th annual meeting and conference on May 22-24, 2011, at the Kingsmill Resort and Spa in Williamsburg,Virginia,USA. The theme, "Evidence-Based Science and Regulation of the Tobacco Industry," will build upon that of last year's conference.
TMA will be joined again by the director of FDA's Center for Tobacco Products, Dr. Lawrence Deyton, as well as many esteemed colleagues from various sectors of the industry. The program will cover a number of regulatory issues, as well as the weight of evidence and the menthol reports.
Top securities analysts will discuss the current competitive position of manufacturers. Legal experts will cover the issue of "substantial equivalence." Illicit trade and packaging issues will also be addressed. Q&A will figure prominently in all sessions.
On Sunday May 22, TMA will offer a separate, pre-conference event covering Good Manufacturing practices and the FDA. Those not attending the GMP/FDA sessions can register for the golf outing on the River Course, one of the premier courses in the United States.
