China: Jiangsu Completes Tender Invitation for Parts Supply for Cigarette-Making Machines Source from: TobaccoChina Online 12/27/2010 Jiangsu Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation - the operator of the tobacco industry in east China's Jiangsu Province - smoothly completed on December 7, 2010 the work of open tender invitation for the supply of home-made spare parts and components for its PROTOS and GD121 cigarette making machines needed by all the manufacturing enterprises under the corporation in years 2011 and 2012.
Through the open tender invitation, Jiangsu Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation has been able to purchase 1,490 types of made-in-China spare parts and components for its PROTOS and GD121 cigarette making machines for supply in 2011 and 2012 at unit prices exclusive of taxes lower than past prices by 5.88 percent.
Computed on the basis of the amount purchased in the period of time from the going online of the Enterprise Resource Planning system of the corporation on September 1, 2008 to the end of June 2010, the amount of payment made declined by 736,000 yuan (108,235 U.S. dollars), with the total expenditure for the purchase going down by nearly 6 percent.
The open tender invitation was conducted by Jiangsu Provincial Tender Invitation Company under the authorization of Jiangsu Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation. A total of eight suppliers responded to the open tender invitation. Eventually, four suppliers won the bids for supply parts and components for Nanjing Cigarette Factory, three suppliers for Xuzhou Cigarette Factory and four suppliers for Huaiyin Cigarette Factory.
