Delegation of Provincial Tobacco Administration Visits HongyunHonghe

A high-level delegation from Shaanxi Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, led by its director and general manager Zhang Tianfeng, visited HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on November 30, exchanging views with HongyunHonghe leaders on bilateral trade cooperation and supply of leaf tobacco under quotas issued by the State. Besides Zhang Tianfeng, who is also secretary of the Communist Party group at Shaanxi Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration, the Shaanxi delegation also grouped the administration's Communist Party Disciplinary Inspection Group chief Ji Yingcheng, Leaf Tobacco Management Division chief Zhang Zhenping and Cigarette Sales Management Division deputy chief Dong Haichao. Receiving the Shaanxi delegation, HongyunHonghe Deputy CEO Li Heng briefed the guests on definition of HongyunHonghe competitive cigarette brands of Yunyan and Honghe, saying that judged by the placement of orders for cigarette supply in 2011, HongyunHonghe's sales of cigarettes of competitive brands at the marketplace in Shaanxi are expected to increase to some extent in the next year. As far as the work of cigarette sales in a next period of time is concerned, Li Heng expressed the hope that Shaanxi Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration, which doubles as Shaanxi Provincial Tobacco Corporation, will better accommodate HongyunHonghe in terms of the supply of resources and trade policies, will upgrade the structure of resources supplied to HongyunHonghe, will support HongyunHonghe in new product development and marketing, and will join hands with HongyunHonghe in the development of competitive cigarette brands. Li Heng also briefed the guests on HongyunHonghe's unit construction of leaf tobacco production bases, allocation of leaf tobacco under quotas issued by the State, etc. Meanwhile, Wang Shaokun, assistant to the CEO of HongyunHonghe, said that after conducting on-site investigation and technological experiments, HongyunHonghe began to purchase leaf tobacco from Yan'an City in Shaanxi Province for its cigarette production in 2009. He said that HongyunHonghe is planning to start the establishment of units of leaf tobacco production bases in Nanniwan region of Shaanxi in 2011, for exclusive supply to HongyunHonghe for the production of cigarettes of its competitive brands. In 2010, HongyunHonghe has purchased 10,000 dan (500 tons) of leaf tobacco from Yan'an under quotas issued by the State. In 2011, HongyunHonghe will purchase from Yan'an 30,000 dan (1,500 tons) of leaf tobacco under quotas issued by the State, according to Wang Shaokun. HongyunHonghe CEO Wu Yi said that in 2011, HongyunHonghe will continue to focus its energy on promoting competitive cigarette brands development, raw materials supply, marketing, technological innovation, technological transformation, etc, in order that HongyunHonghe will be able to guarantee the production and supply of high-quality cigarette products through full-scale capacity building. Speaking on the same occasion, Zhang Tianfeng said that there is a deep-rooted business relationship between the tobacco industry of Shaanxi and HongyunHonghe, and that there exists a well-established basis for cooperation between the two sides, with broad prospects for future development.
