China: Shandong Exports First Batch of Newly Developed Cigarette Products

Shandong Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in east China's Shandong Province exported on November 8 the first batch of its newly developed Mount Tai brand (Overseas Fashion) cigarettes totaling 3,120 boxes (32.1 million cigarettes), in the corporation's drive to strengthen the development of international markets. In efforts to rapidly develop international markets, the International Business Development Department of Shandong Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation and cooperation partners, in light of the demand and consumption characteristics in east Africa, jointly sponsored the development of Mount Tai brand (Overseas Fashion) cigarette products in high, medium and low grades. After designing and development by the technology center of the corporation, Mount Tai brand (Overseas Fashion) cigarettes were put to test-sale at the marketplace, and foreign consumers generally have approved both the style and flavor of the new products. It was reported that Shandong Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation is planning to export 70 million Mount Tai brand (Overseas Fashion) cigarettes (7,000 boxes) by the end of 2010. Enditem
