China: City Company Puts Into Operation First High-Speed Cigarette Making Unit

Xiamen Tobacco Industry Company in southeast China's Fujian Province has recently put into operation its first M5 high-speed cigarette making unit installed at the Cigarette Making Zone No. 2 at the production area of the company, after the unit passed stringent technological appraisal by a panel of experts designated by the local tobacco monopoly administrative authorities. Xiamen Tobacco Industry Company boasts the Protos 70, Protos 1-8 and M5 types of cigarette making units. The entry into operation of the M5 cigarette making unit signifies that the cigarette production capacity of Xiamen Tobacco Industry Company has been promoted to a higher level. During three days of loaded test run conducted on October 21-23, the M5 cigarette making unit was able to meet all the standards for output value and raw materials consumption, and also all the standards for appearance quality.
