China: Technological Transformation of Kunming Cigarette Factory Enters Final Stage

The project of relocation and technological transformation of Kunming Cigarette Factory - a subsidiary of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - has recently entered the final stage of fulfillment, in accordance with HongyunHonghe's general requirement of realizing a complete relocation of the cigarette factory to a new site by February 2011.

By the end of October, the main structure of Building No. 1 of the sweet fragrance preparation center had been capped, with construction and fitting of the fire control system, air conditioning system, pipeline system, joint workshop and dining hall entering the final phase. Afforestation at the factory proper and construction of a parking system are both underway busily. So far, fitting of the new office buildings No. 2, 3 and 4 at the cigarette factory has been completed. In the installation of production equipment at the new site, full-scale electromechanical operation of the leaf tobacco and stem cutting line and Production Line B has been realized, with loaded debugging carried out smoothly. Besides, Production Lines C and D are undergoing electromechanical debugging. In the loaded debugging of some newly introduced cigarette-making machines and packing machines, a first batch of cigarettes, packets and cartons have been produced. In the current technological transformation, Kunming Cigarette Factory has completed the process of upgrading the IPC software program and adaptability modification of auxiliary materials. The existing packing machines at the factory are undergoing upgrading and technological improvement of equipment. So far, the installation of the wind-power cut tobacco conveying machine at the new site has been completed. In the establishment of the distribution system at the new site, the cigarette factory has completed the single-unit debugging at the cut tobacco storage.
