Hongta Group Ranks First Among Tobacco Manufacturers in Top 500 Chinese Enterprises

Hongta Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province ranks the first among the tobacco manufacturers in the Top 500 Chinese Enterprises in 2010, which were selected recently by China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprise Directors Association on the basis of competitive comprehensive grading.

According to a report released on September 4 in Hefei, capital city of east China's Anhui Province, by China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprise Directors Association, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) - Asia's leading refinery - once again leads the Top 500 in 2010, with an annual business revenue of 1.39 trillion yuan (about 204.41 billion U.S. dollars). It is followed by the State Grid and PetroChina. All the first ten Chinese enterprises in the list of the Top 500 are State-owned giants.

The list of the Top 500 in 2010 shows that Hongta Group ranks the 104th among the Top 500 and also the 1st among the tobacco manufacturing enterprises in the Top 500, with an annual business revenue of 55.9 billion yuan (8.22 billion U.S. dollars). It is followed by Shanghai Tobacco Group, with 52.8 billion yuan (7.76 billion U.S. dollars), and Hunan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, with 50.6 billion yuan (7.44 billion U.S. dollars). In all, nine tobacco manufacturing enterprises rank among the Top 500 in 2010. They are respectively Hongta Group at the 104th place, with 55.9 billion yuan (8.22 billion U.S. dollars); Shanghai Tobacco Group at the 113th place, with 52.8 billion yuan (7.76 billion U.S. dollars); Hunan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation at the 124th place, with 50.6 billion yuan (7.44 billion U.S. dollars); Hongyun-Honghe Tobacco Group at the 126th place, with 50.237 billion yuan (7.38 billion U.S. dollars); Zhejiang Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation at the 209th place, with 30.136 billion yuan (4.43 billion U.S. dollars); Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation at the 212th place, with 29.943 billion yuan (4.4 billion U.S. dollars); Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation at the 261st place, with 22.849 billion yuan (3.36 billion U.S. dollars); Shandong Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation at the 326th place, with 18.201 billion yuan (2.67 billion U.S. dollars); and Guizhou Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation at the 335th place, with 17.43 billion yuan (2.56 billion U.S. dollars).
