Comolli to Leave Imperial Board

Imperial Tobacco Group's deputy chairman, Jean-Dominique Comolli, will be leaving the company's board with effect from September 14. As was reported yesterday, Comolli has been appointed by the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, to act as commissioner for state shareholdings in France, reporting directly to the Finance Minister, Christine Lagarde. The Imperial chairman, Iain Napier, congratulated Comolli on his appointment and thanked him for his "significant contribution to the Imperial Tobacco Group and previously to Altadis prior to its acquisition".
