BAT to Undertake Major Upgrade of Korean Plant

British American Tobacco Korea said yesterday it would invest WON100 billion in upgrading its factory at Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, according to stories in The Korea Herald and The Korea Times. The work will be carried out this year and next. "We are leveraging BAT's global expertise to bring cutting-edge technology to our Korean business so we can continue to deliver high quality and innovative products to our customers," said president, Stephan Liechti. BAT Korea, which accounts for about 18 per cent of the Korean market, built the Sacheon factory in 2002 and later expanded its capacity and added a large warehouse complex. Enditem
