Philip Morris is said to have displayed five packets of various Marlboro cigarettes in a showcase at a temporary bar counter.
The second charge alleges that the firm displayed a sample kit promoting the sale of a new menthol cigarette at Hianky provision store in Clementi Avenue 5 on Nov 5 last year.
The kit had a six-page folded brochure and a compact disc featuring a video of the new product.
Representing the company in the District Court was general manager Daniel Touw and lawyer Hamidul Haq of Rajah & Tann. Philip Morris was granted a month-long adjournment to discuss certain matters with the pro-secution. Enditem
