Labstat Officials Visit HongyunHonghe for Talks on Cooperation

Executive Vice-President Andrew Mooney and Dr. Bao Mingliang of Labstat International ULC - a Canada-based leading international analytical laboratory - visited the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on May 21 for talks on business cooperation between the two sides.

During the visit, Mooney and Bao held talks with HongyunHonghe Vice-President Li Heng and leaders of HongyunHonghe's technology research and development center, and the two sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in the relevant scientific-technological research projects in an all-round and in-depth way. At the talks, Li Heng briefed Mooney and Bao on the "532" brands development plan of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, and said future competition within the tobacco industry will be competition in scientific-technological innovation and competition to strengthen the core competitiveness of products. HongyunHonghe's cooperation with Labstat International will contribute to strengthening the scientific-technological innovation capacity of HongyunHonghe, Li Heng said. He expressed the wish that the two sides will understand each other, support each other, strive to seek common grounds and jointly promote future bilateral business cooperation and development. In 2009 - the first year after the incorporation of HongyunHonghe, a high-level delegation visited HongyunHonghe, and the two sides signed a framework agreement on bilateral business cooperation. The current visit prompted cooperation between the two sides to enter a substantive stage, and the two sides exchanged views on testing of sample cigarettes, comparative experiments, testing methods, research of standards, training of testing workers, establishment of standard laboratories, etc in a comprehensive way. The two sides unanimously agreed to accelerate the relevant work in order to fulfill the cooperation projects at an early date.
