At the ceremony presided over by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Chinese President Hu Jintao delivered an address to urge greater efforts to promote the "model worker spirit" nationwide to further promote socioeconomic development.
Zhang has become the fourth national-level model worker from HongyunHonghe after Xiong Xiong from Qujing Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe, Liu Fengshu from Ulanhot Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe and Qiu Jiankang from the head office of HongyunHonghe received such titles in previous years.
The selection of national-level labor heroes and model workers is held once in every five years. Granted by the State Council (the Cabinet), the title of national-level model workers is the highest honor for workers in China.
