China Tobacco Industry Development Center Delegation Visits HongyunHonghe

A delegation from China Tobacco Industry Development Center led by General Manager Zhang Jianjun and Deputy General Manager Li Zenglin visited the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on April 13, holding talks with HongyunHonghe President Wu Yi and Communist Party Committee Secretary Xu Liwei as well as leaders of the relevant departments.

During the talks, Zhang said that the visit was intended to firstly extend congratulation to HongyunHonghe on a recent leadership reshuffle, secondly become aware of HongyunHonghe's brands development strategy under the "532" and "461" development targets of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA), and thirdly exchange opinions with HongyunHonghe on the development of the Shanxi Kunming Tobacco Co., Ltd. in north China's Shanxi Province and the Inner Mongolia Kunming Cigarette Co., Ltd. in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region - two subsidiaries to HongyunHonghe. The STMA's "532" development target provides that in a period of five years or longer, efforts will be intensified to develop two well-known cigarette brands each with an annual output of 5 million cases, three each with an annual output of 3 million cases and five each with an annual output of 2 million cases. And, the "461" development target of the STMA provides that by the year 2015, efforts will be intensified to develop 12 highly influential cigarette brands each capable of generating over 40 billion yuan in annual sales income, including six each capable of generating over 60 billion yuan in annual sales income, and one capable of generating 100 billion yuan in annual sales income. Wu briefed the delegation on HongyunHonghe's planning guidelines and measures for brands development in the 2011-2015 five-year period in accordance with the "532" and "461" development targets of the STMA, and on its brands development plan submitted to the STMA recently. On the development of the Shanxi Kunming Tobacco Co., Ltd. and the Inner Mongolia Kunming Cigarette Co., Ltd., Wu expressed the wish that the two subsidiaries to HongyunHonghe will give play to their respective advantages, and will reform and upgrade the structure of their cigarette products in accordance with the brands development planning of HongyunHonghe, in order to promote their cigarette production to a higher level. Speaking on the same occasion, Xu briefed the delegation on the pressure and challenges faced by HongyunHonghe in realizing its brands development plan. He said that HongyunHonghe will do all it can to promote the development of the Shanxi Kunming Tobacco Co., Ltd. and the Inner Mongolia Kunming Cigarette Co., Ltd. Besides continuing to extend support by strengthening the supply of raw materials to them, HongyunHonghe will, in accordance with its development planning for 2010, also work out relatively highly applicable plans for the development of brands on the part of both subsidiaries in the 2011-2015 five-year period, in order that both will be able to realize steady growth of economic efficiency.
