Deputy Provincial Governor Inspects HongyunHonghe

Deputy Governor Cao Jianfang of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province inspected the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - on April 7, shortly after the formation of its new leadership in a recent reshuffle, hearing reports on production and operation, and giving instructions on future development.

After hearing reports on production and operation over a recent period of time given by HongyunHonghe's new president, Wu Yi, Cao pointed out that over the past more than one year since its incorporation, HongyunHonghe has made remarkable achievements, not only winning market recognition of its outstanding cigarette brands, but also winning respect from society for its generosity. Cao emphatically gave the following instructions on the work of HongyunHonghe in 2010: Firstly, to stick to the policy of taking the strategy for the development of big competitive brands as a major basis for future development: Efforts should be made to further reform the structure of existing brands, change the way of development and realize sustainable development through the adoption of a series of major measures, including development of brands, scientific-technological innovation and technological transformation. Secondly, to stick to the policy of taking the increase of market shares as a major development target: In this respect, it is essential to focus energy on marketing, attach greater importance to studying market changes, spend more energy in innovating new ways of marketing, and explore new ways of development, in order to realize new breakthrough in development. And thirdly, to stick to the policy of taking the increase of predictability as an important condition for development: In this regard, it is imperative to have a more forward-looking way of thinking and a broader vision in planning future development of HongyunHonghe. We should not only consider both the domestic and international markets, but should also take into account the factor of change of the external environment, in order to well plan future development of HongyunHonghe on the basis of extensive investigation and research and on the basis of systematic and scientific demonstration. During the inspection, Yao Qingyan, deputy general manager of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation and HongyunHonghe Board of Directors chairman, Wu Yi, president of HongyunHonghe, and Xu Liwei, secretary of the Communist Party group at HongyunHonghe, also made speeches one after another. They all expressed the readiness to lead all employees of HongyunHonghe to unite as one, explore new ways of development and realize sound and rapid development of the group in accordance with the requirement of both the Communist Party Yunnan Provincial Committee and the Yunnan Provincial Government.
