STMA Reshuffles Top Leadership of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group

The State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) has recently reshuffled the top leadership of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer, replacing both the president and Board of Directors chairman of Hongyun-Honghe, and also the Communist Party Committee chief at the group.

According to an official document on appointments and dismissals read out by Director Zhang Wen of the leading officials section of the STMA's Human Resources Department at a general meeting of staff members of HongyunHonghe on March 25, Deputy General Manager Yao Qingyan of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation will concurrently take the post of the Board of Directors chairman and will be relieved from the post of the Communist Party Committee secretary at the group. Former Vice-President Wu Yi of HongyunHonghe will take the post of the president of the group while former Vice-President Xu Liwei of HongyunHonghe will work as the Communist Party Committee secretary at the group. Meanwhile, Zhu Shaoming will be relieved from the post of the president of HongyunHonghe and Qiu Jiankang will be relieved from the post of the Board of Directors chairman of the group. In a speech delivered at the meeting, Deputy Director Liu Jingzhen of the STMA's Human Resources Department fully affirmed both the efforts and achievements made by HongyunHonghe in the process of reform and development over past years, and expressed the hope that its new top leadership will lead all staff members and workers of HongyunHonghe to promote the work of the group to a higher level. In a separate address delivered at the meeting, General Manager Zhang Shuichang of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation comprehensively analyzed the targets and tasks for reform and development on the part of HongyunHonghe during the current period of time, and expressed the hope that the new top leadership of HongyunHonghe will focus on development and unity within the group, emphasize responsibility in the interest of development, strive for the development of competitive brands closely in accordance with the central task of promoting cigarette production to a higher level, have the courage to build HongyunHonghe into a first-rate enterprise, target higher goals, and strive for realizing all the general targets for development in the 2011-2015 five-year period. Speaking on the same occasion, outgoing former Board of Directors chairman Qiu Jiankang and former president Zhu Shaoming of HongyunHonghe expressed thanks to the authorities of the provincial tobacco industry and all staff members and workers of HongyunHonghe for their support during their terms of office, and also put forward expectations for the development of the group under its new top leadership. Meanwhile, newly appointed Board of Directors chairman Yao Qingyan, president Wu Yi and Communist Party Committee secretary of HongyunHonghe also made speeches one after another, saying that under the guidance of the STMA and the provincial government of Yunnan, and under the leadership of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, the new top leadership of the group will rely on the efforts of all staff members and workers of Hongyun-Honghe, seize all development opportunities, promote production in keeping with the favorable trend of development, and open a new chapter of development of Hongyun-Honghe.
