Good Year for Swedish Match

Swedish Match's sales last year, at SEK14,204 million, were up by 12.6 per cent on those of the previous year, SEK12,611 million.
All in all, last year was a good one for the company. EBITDA was up by 20.6 per cent to SEK3,885 million, operating profit was up by 18.9 per cent to SEK3,417 million, operating margin was up by 1.9 percentage points to 24.1 per cent, profit for the year was up by 12.9 per cent to SEK2,361 million, earnings per share were up by 16.5 per cent to SEK9.67, and the dividend per share, subject to approval at the annual general meeting, was up by 15.8 per cent to SEK4.75.

Sales of snus and snuff, which account for 30 per cent of SM's total sales, were up by 14.1 per cent to SEK4,250 million, while operating profit in this segment, which accounts for 54 per cent of total profits, was up by 15.6 per cent to SEK1,916 million.
Sales of cigars, which account for 31 per cent of total sales, were up by 21.4 per cent to SEK4,426 million, while operating profit in this segment, which accounts for 26 per cent of total profits, was up by 36.3 per cent to SEK935 million.
Sales of chewing, which account for eight per cent of total sales, were up by 19 per cent to SEK1,112 million, while operating profit in this segment, which accounts for 12 per cent of total profits, was up by 24.9 per cent to SEK411 million. Enditem
