Commonwealth Expanding Reidsville Plant

Commonwealth Brands said on Thursday that it was expanding its plant in Reidsville with the addition of a line for the manufacture of cigarette tubes, according to a story by Richard Craver for the Winston-Salem Journal. Craver said the increasing popularity of roll-your-own and make-your-own tobacco products had given a boost to Commonwealth at a time when local competitors were cutting back on production and jobs. Commonwealth said it will create 35 jobs this year, expanding its local work force to 259 employees. And it will spend $6.7 million on capital improvements. Enditem
