Delegation of Cameroon's SITABC Visits HongyunHonghe

A delegation led by Executive President Dr. James Onobiono of SITABAC - the only cigarette-making enterprise in Cameroon - visited the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on January 28, holding talks with leading officials of HongyunHonghe on intent of cooperation between the two sides in cigarette production.

Receiving the Cameroonian delegation were Vice-President Bi Fenglin of HongyunHonghe and relevant officials with the overseas business development department of HongyunHonghe. At the talks, Dr. Onobiono firstly briefed the hosts on the development of cigarette markets in Africa, saying that Cameroon and its neighboring countries all have a relatively strong demand for cigarettes, and that British-style flue-cured tobacco accounts for over 60 percent of the shares of cigarette markets in Africa. Dr. Onobiono expressed the hope that Hongyun-Hongyun, as the largest tobacco manufacturer in China, would cooperation with SITABAC in terms of licensed production of cigarettes, raw materials technology, sales networks, investment and so on. Also speaking at the talks, Bi Fenglin briefed the guests on the development of HongyunHonghe and its overseas development strategy, expressing the hope that the two sides could, on the basis of strengthening the exchange of information on marketing, enhance mutual understanding, jointly explore feasible ways of cooperation, and actively seek bilateral cooperation. Accompanied by Deputy Director Jin Yigang of the overseas business development department and Assistant Chen Jingchun of Kunming Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe, the Cameroonian delegation also visited the site of production at Production Department No. 4 of Kunming Cigarette Factory. The guests highly commented on the application of modern production technology and good management at the cigarette factory.
