Inner Mongolia Communist Party Chief Inspects Cigarette Factory Relocation Project

Newly appointed Secretary Hu Chunhua of the Chinese Communist Party's Inner Mongolia regional committee inspected the site of relocation and technical transformation of Ulanhot Cigarette Factory in north China's Inner Mongolia Region on January 7, hearing reports on the project of relocation and technical transformation, and urging acceleration of the development of Ulanhot Cigarette Factory.

Accompanied by two local Communist Party and government leaders, Hu firstly visited the tobacco cutting and cigarette making workshops at Ulanhot Cigarette Factory, which is a subsidiary to the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province. During the visit, Hu heard reports given by Deputy Director Wang Jianming of Ulanhot Cigarette Factory on progress in fulfillment of the project of relocation and technical transformation. Wang told Hu that after completion of installation of the tobacco cutting line at the new site, the annual cigarette production capacity of Ulanhot Cigarette Factory will reach 200,000 cases (10 billion cigarettes), and Ulanhot Cigarette Factory will be able to meet the requirement for it to produce cigarettes with the same quality as those produced by other subsidiaries of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group. Hu asked questions about fulfillment of the project of relocation and technical transformation, and urged Ulanhot Cigarette Factory to step up its reconstruction, seize opportunities for development, and realize socioeconomic development in a scientific way, in order to make greater contribution to the economic development of Inner Mongolia. During the inspection, Hu also heard reports given by Director Liu Fengshu of Ulanhot Cigarette Factory on production and operation on the part of both Ulanhot Cigarette Factory and the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer.
