HongyunHonghe Honors Collectives, Individuals for Scientific-Technological Creation

The HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - held a meeting on January 7 to honor the collectives and individuals with the group for their outstanding achievements in scientific-technological creation and innovation in the year 2009.

Attending the meeting were Director Zhao Zimin of the Science and Technology Department of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, and President Zhu Shaoming and Vice-Presidents Wu Yi, Xu Liwei and Bi Fenglin of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group, as well as representatives of the collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in scientific-technological creation and innovation. At the meeting, the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group honored the collectives and individuals that made outstanding achievements in projects of scientific-technological creation and innovation in 2009, including 12 projects of scientific-technological research that had won awards issued by higher authorities, five exclusive core technological achievements that had been successfully applied in practice, 32 outstanding achievements in scientific-technological creation and innovation conducted by HongyunHonghe, 33 patented achievements in scientific-technological creation and innovation, 45 achievements on quality control and 24 outstanding theses on scientific-technological research. In an address to the meeting titled "Focusing on Essentials, Making Breakthroughs at Key Points and Strengthening Efforts for Scientific-Technological Creation and Innovation for HongyunHonghe", President Zhu Shaoming extended congratulations to the collectives and individuals honored, on behalf of the leadership of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group. Zhu summarized the work of scientific-technological creation and innovation at HongyunHonghe by commenting on the achievements made, talking about the general situation and raising new requirements. He affirmed the achievements of HongyunHonghe in scientific-technological creation and innovation, comprehensively analyzed and summed up the situation faced by HongyunHonghe in terms of the macroeconomic situation in China, the situation of the tobacco industry of China and the realities of Honghe-Honghe, and put forward the requirements of "doing a good job of research and development of products and maintenance, focusing energy on the fulfillment of key and exclusive projects, and well managing the development of mechanisms and human resources", which will be playing a role of guiding the work of scientific-technological creation and innovation at HongyunHonghe. At the meeting, Wu Yi delivered a report on the work of scientific-technological creation and innovation at HongyunHonghe, recalling the work of scientific-technological creation and innovation over the past year. Afterwards, Wu made statements on the general guidelines and direction of the work of scientific-technological creation and innovation in the 2010, and key points of the work of scientific-technological creation and innovation in the new year. Wu also put forward the requirements of "being prepared for danger in times of safety, strengthening understanding, being firmly confident and promoting the work of scientific-technological creation and innovation at HongyunHonghe to a higher level".
