Key Cigarette Factory Holds Research Achievements Appraisal, Selection Fair Source from: HongyunHonghe Group 12/23/2009 Kunming Cigarette Factory in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - a key Chinese tobacco manufacturer - held a scientific-technological research achievements appraisal and selection fair on December 11, to honor institutions and individuals of the factory who are outstanding in scientific-technological research in the business development of the tobacco manufacturer.
At the fair, a 10-member panel of appraisers including technicians, experts and executives of the relevant departments of Kunming Cigarette Factory appraised one by one the scientific-technological research achievements presented for appraisal and selection.
Research taskforces were invited to demonstrate their research achievements before the appraisers raised questions to them, appraised their achievements and made judgments on the spot.
As a result, the "the new pretreatment technology for improving the suitability of tobacco stems" developed by Workshop No. 13 of Production Department No. 5 won a first prize while the project of "technological development in the process of application of the KTC80 leaf tobacco cutting machine" fulfilled by Workshop No. 10 of Production Department Four and the project of "solving the problem of inside surface adherency at rotary equipment of leaf tobacco cutting lines" undertaken by Workshop No. Five of Production Department No. Four each won a second prize.
There were four projects that each won a third prize at the fair - the "unit cigarette carton bar code scanning early warning system for Production Department No. Two" developed by the Information Management Department, the "research of comprehensive transformation for improvement of the packaging quality of the FOCKE700 system and for reducing the cost of raw and support materials" developed by Workshop No. 11 of Production Department No. Four, the "technical transformation of the Filtromat-s2 transmission unit for adaptability to the 100mm cigarette filter tip" developed by Workshop No. Four of Production Department No. Five, and the "technical transformation of the small packet oiltight moulding system" conducted by Workshop No. Six of Production Department No. Two.
The scientific-technological research achievements appraisal and selection fair was focused on the solution of difficult technical problems, improvement of quality, reduction of cost, energy conservation, reduction of emission, improvement of productivity and increase of economic efficiency. It contributed to well arousing the enthusiasm and creativity of participants, and played an obvious role in solving practical problems in production and operation. Enditem
