Ruling to Cost BAT RM80m in 2010

British American Tobacco (Malaysia) Bhd's operating profit next financial year will be cut by up to RM80 million following a Ministry of Health ruling which forbids the sale of cigarettes in packs of less than 20, it said in a stock exchange statement today. The company's smaller cigarette packets have higher margins due to higher stick pricing, it said. The ruling is effective June 1, 2010, it said. Enditem
