JTI Leaf Services sets up shop in Danville Source from: Tobacco Reporter 10/10/2009 JTI Leaf Services, a joint venture company created by JTI, Hail & Cotton and J.E.B. in June, will open a tobacco processing facility in Danville, Virginia, USA, according to local press reports.
A $19.5 million investment, the new facility will create 39 full-time and 150 seasonal jobs.
JTI Leaf Services will procure and process leaf tobacco at a 256,000-square-foot building on 56.7 acres of land. In addition to receiving, processing and storing tobacco, the site will serve as the company's head office.
The company will receive a $100,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund and up to $250,000 from the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission. Enditem
