Schweitzer-Mauduit Delegation Visits HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group

A 14-member high-level delegation from Schweitzer-Mauduit International, Inc. of France, led by a former general counsel of technology, visited the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on September 2, for technological exchange with HongyunHonghe for smooth fulfillment of a Sino-French tobacco strip joint-venture project. Extending welcome to the French delegation, Vice-President Wu Yi of HongyunHonghe introduced the development and advantages of HongyunHonghe in brands, technology and raw materials since its incorporation on the basis of merger of the former Hongyun Group and Honghe Group in 2008. In light of the status quo of development of HongyunHonghe, Wu Yi expressed the hope of HongyunHonghe to continue and deepen cooperation with Schweitzer-Mauduit, and organically combine the research and development of tobacco strip products with the research and development of cigarettes, in order that high-end and high-grade cigarette brands of China will be able to show new characteristics in the process of applying tobacco strips, and in order to realize differentiation of products, and provide assistance for the development of brands of HongyunHonghe. Speaking on the same occasion, the general counsel of technology of the Schweitzer-Mauduit delegation extended congratulations to the achievements of HongyunHonghe since its incorporation, and said that Schweitzer-Mauduit and HongyunHonghe have maintained a sound relationship of cooperation for years. The general counsel also said that Schweitzer-Mauduit attaches great importance to the brands of HongyunHonghe, that Schweitzer-Mauduit has full confidence in cooperation with such a powerful Chinese enterprise, and that Schweitzer-Mauduit will strive to well fulfill the cooperation project between the two sides in accordance with the requirement of HongyunHonghe for the development of brands. He expressed the belief that the two sides will achieve greater success in cooperation in future. Meanwhile, Vice-President Li Heng of HongyunHonghe recalled the fruitful cooperation between HongyunHonghe and Schweitzer-Mauduit over the past few years. He expressed the hope that along with continued renewal of tobacco technologies and gradual extension of application of new technologies and new techniques, the two sides will have very broad prospects for future cooperation. Li also expressed the hope that the two sides will further strengthen technological cooperation, and will jointly promote common development of business in future cooperation. Enditem
