U.S. Agricultural Delegation Visits HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group

An agricultural delegation from the U.S. state of North Carolina visited the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on August 7, holding talks with Wang Shaokun, assistant to the president of HongyunHonghe, and leaders of the technology center and other departments of the group on cooperation in tobacco growing and other fields.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Inspector Mao Pinjun of the purchase center and officials with Kunming Cigarette Factory of the group, the U.S. delegation visited Kunming Cigarette Factory.
Afterwards, the U.S. delegation, led by Albert Johnson, Board of Directors chairman of the U.S. Tobacco Cooperative Inc., held talks with Wang Shaokun and leaders of the technology center and other departments of the group on cooperation in tobacco growing and other fields.

In the talks, Johnson briefed the hosts on leaf tobacco growing in North Carolina, and expressed the hope to develop further cooperation with HongyunHonghe in leaf tobacco purchase.
Speaking on the same occasion, Wang introduced the basic situation of HongyunHonghe since its incorporation on the basis of the merger of Hongyun Group and Honghe Group in 2008, and improvement of leaf tobacco growing technologies by HongyunHonghe. He expressed the hope that Yunnan and North Carolina will continue their exchange and cooperation in leaf tobacco growing, in order to make common progress.
