High-level Schweitzer-Mauduit Delegation Visits HongyunHonghe Group

A high-level delegation from Schweitzer-Mauduit International Inc. headed by Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Frederic Villoutreix recently visited the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province, to conduct bilateral negotiations on promoting business development and relevant matters. Upon the arrival, the delegation went to see the site of construction of workshop buildings for the new Kunming Cigarette Factory under the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in a project of technical transformation and relocation. Afterwards, the Schweitzer-Mauduit delegation held talks with President Zhu Shaoming and Vice-President Wu Yi and senior executives of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group. During the talks, Wu Yi introduced to the guests the development of brands and the scale of marketing of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group since its incorporation on the basis of the merger of Hongyun Group and Honghe Group in 2008. Wu particularly mentioned that since the incorporation, the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group has had sufficient reform and improvement of the structure of its technologies, raw materials and other resources. Speaking on the same occasion, Villoutreix said that since its incorporation, the Honghun-Honghe Tobacco Group has appeared to be more powerful, that he has seen increasing new changes of the group, and that Schweitzer-Mauduit is expecting more cooperation with HongyunHonghe. Also speaking at the talks, Zhu Shaoming expressed welcome to the visit by the Schweitzer-Mauduit delegation, and affirmed the quality of the products and services provided by Schweitzer-Mauduit. On the plan of Schweitzer-Mauduit to build a tobacco strip processing project in Yunnan, Zhu said this project will be of great significance to the development of the tobacco industry of Yunnan and even the whole of China's tobacco industry. In light of the requirement of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration for lowering the content of tar and other harmful substances in cigarettes, and in light of the development strategy of the HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group, Zhu expressed HongyunHonghe's wish and hope for cooperation between the two sides in the tobacco strip processing project in terms of technological indexes, investment, output, etc. Zhu also expressed the hope that the two sides will be able to realize mutual supplementation and common promotion of development through technological exchange and cooperation.
