Chinese Company Succeeds in Developing Tobacco Seedlings on Slag

The Fuyuan branch of Qujing City Tobacco Company in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province has succeeded in developing tobacco seedlings on mineral waste residues in substitution for the base material for tobacco float seedling, on the basis of experiments and research conducted over the past four years. So far, the technology of developing tobacco seedlings on mineral waste residues has proven to be quite successful, and has been extensively applied in all villages and townships in Fuyuan County. Results of experiments and research indicate that mineral waste residues can well replace the base material for floating seedling in the development of tobacco seedlings. The use of mineral waste residues for tobacco seedlings development not only totally meets the requirement for developing strong seedlings, but is also capable of reducing the cost of tobacco seedlings development.
