China: Guizhou Province Invested Heavily on Tobacco Production Infrastructures

This year, Guizhou province will increase leaf tobacco purchasing price 10% based on last year's average. At the same time, the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of finance, approved national tobacco production investment standard for 13% of purchasing price, State Tobacco Monopoly Administration increased the level to 16%. Guizhou tobacco production keeps steady development for 11 consecutive years, and the tobacco production has formed a comparatively mature and completely industry chain. Leaf tobacco production has became a pillar industry in rural areas of Guizhou. Since 2005, Guizhou has invested 3.61 billion yuan on tobacco production infrastructures. Enditem
