PM Makes Full 2008 MSA Payment

Philip Morris USA yesterday made its full annual Master Settlement Agreement (MSA) payment of about $4 billion, a figure calculated on the basis of its cigarette sales volume during 2008. In making the payment, the company said that US states had last year also collected cigarette excise and sales tax of almost $19.5 billion. Since 1997, PM USA has paid more than $47 billion to the states (MSA and Previously Settled States combined). Enditem
