Star's Dissolvable Tobacco Volumes Increased Source from: Tobacco Reporter 03/18/2009 Star Scientific's volume sales of its two dissolvable smokeless tobacco products, Ariva and Stonewall, increased by 7.8 per cent last year but the company reported net sales during 2008 of $0.5 million, essentially unchanged from those of 2007.
Star reported a net loss for 2008 of $18.3 million compared to a net loss during 2007 of $41.5 million.
Meanwhile, the company reported that a recently-completed study by its Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals subsidiary to determine the ability of Stonewall to relieve cigarette withdrawal symptoms when compared to an over-the-counter nicotine replacement product, had been accepted for submission at the Society for Research in Nicotine and Tobacco ? Europe Conference to be held in Dublin, Ireland, next month.
