China: Regional Company Kicks Off Project of Leaf Tobacco Alcoholization Depot

Anhui Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation - the operator of the tobacco industry in east China's Anhui Province - held a ceremony on February 18 to kick off the project of building a leaf tobacco alcoholization depot in the High and New Technology Zone in Bengbu City of the province, with a total investment of 180 million yuan (26 million U.S. dollars). With a total construction area of 100,000 square meters, the construction of the high-standard multilevel leaf tobacco alcoholization depot is a priority project of Anhui Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation intended to save expenditure, lower costs, enhance competitiveness and reform the structure of resources for logistic supply and distribution. Anhui Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation is planning to turn the project into an advanced leaf tobacco storage center in China, with clear distinction of functions, with smooth distribution of supplies, and with a complete range of support facilities for water and electricity supply, ventilation, dehumidification, etc meeting the requirement of leaf tobacco alcoholization and storage.
