Group Fights Tobacco Addiction

Groups looking to help smokers fight the addiction were in Bottineau on October 24th.. First District Health and Tommy Turtle Lanes are working with the program "How to Become an Ex" to fight tobacco addiction. The group offered free bowling and shoe rental as well as free information about the "Ex" program. "How to Become an Ex" features an interactive web-site dedicated to helping smokers kick the habit. "It`s as much of a process of relearning how to do things without tobacco. For some people it might be the first time in 40 years that they`ve drank a cup of coffee without tobacco or finished a meal without tobacco. So its relearning those triggers," says Tobacco Treatment Specialist Renae Byre Currently nearly 20 percent of North Dakota adults are smokers. Enditem
