5 Teens Arrested After Cigarette Theft

FORT WORTH - Five teens were arrested this morning after a police officer saw them fleeing a Fort Worth store with trash bags full of stolen cigarettes. Lt. Paul Henderson, police spokesman, said an officer parked across the street from the K&K Food Mart, 6101 S. Hulen St., heard the store alarm and observed five males running east from the store though the parking lot. "Two of the men were carrying and dropping plastic trash sacks full of cigarettes," Henderson wrote in a release. The officer gave chase and with assistance from other officers all five teens were apprehended. Surveillance video from inside the store showed the teens had entered the business through a smashed window, Henderson said. Two of the suspects, a 16-year-old and 15-year-old, were handed over to juvenile authorities. The other three were identified as Fredrick Johnson, 19, and Marcus Speed and Wendol Allen, both 17, and booked into jail on suspicion of burglary and evading arrest. Enditem
