Logan County Tobacco Show set for Oct. 10

The Logan County Tobacco Show will be held October 10, 2008 at 10 a.m. on the public square on front of the Chamber of Commerce office. This will be the 52nd year for the tobacco show and I would like to encourage everyone with tobacco to participate. Tobacco will be received from7:30 to 9 a.m. Open classes includes burley, one sucker, and dark tobacco. Youth classes (4-H/FFA) include burley and one sucker. Premiums for the open classes are: 1st-$40; 2nd-$35; 3rd-$30; 4th-$20; 5th-$20; 6th-$15. Youth Premiums are: 1st- $55; 2nd-$45; 3rd- $35. The tobacco may be removed between 3 and 4 p.m. on Friday, October 10th, except for the winners in each class which will be kept on exhibit through Saturday. These winning entries should be removed Saturday, October 11 between 1 and 2 p.m. Each exhibit shall consist of 5 or 6 stalks per stick. Entries must be produced by the individual making the entry.
