Black Moth Super Rainbow's Tobacco Shares Anticon LP Source from: pitchforkmedia.com BMSR serve up rarities comp 09/04/2008 Fucked Up Friends, the previously mentioned, all-analog, mostly-instrumental solo disc from Black Moth Super Rainbow's Tobacco, is due October 14 from Anticon. The album is described as "darker, starker, and altogether more badass" than his work with BMSR; starker I can see, but that Rainbow stuff's pretty dark and badass when it wants to be. Aesop Rock jumps on the Forkcasted track "Dirt", but the rest is all Tobacco.
Not so with Drippers, a new rarities EP from Black Moth Super Rainbow. The 70s Gymnastics Recording Co. release includes a Mike Watt guest spot, an ESOPUS comp track, and a remix of a tune by former Georgie James lady Laura Burhenn, among other odds and ends. Drippers won't hit record stores proper (on CD and 10") until November 4, but it's available now via the band's website on CD. And, yes, it's another scratch'n'sniff affair.
Black Moth Super Rainbow, Tobacco, and other BMSR side project Power Pill Fist each have a few tour dates on the bubble. Enditem
