Indonesia Shuts 1,500 Cigarette Factories

The Indonesian government has shut down at least 1,500 cigarette factories since the beginning of this year, according to local reports. The director general of Customs and Excise, Anwar Suprijadi, said the closures had been made in an attempt to help the government achieve its projected cigarette excise revenue of Rp46.5 trillion.
